"73,386 Martyrs and 174,250 Injured Since the Start of the Genocide on the Gaza Strip"

Gaza, August 9, 2026 – Medical sources announced today, Sunday, that the death toll from the ongoing Israeli occupation aggression on the Gaza Strip has risen to 73,386 martyrs and 174,250 injured since October 7, 2023.

The sources explained that over the past 24 hours, hospitals in the Strip received two martyrs—one of whom succumbed to his injuries—in addition to 8 injured individuals.

They further indicated that the total number of martyrs since the ceasefire on October 11 of last year has risen to 1,258, and injuries to 4,139, while the total number of recovered bodies reached 807. The sources emphasized that a number of victims remain under the rubble and on the streets, as ambulance and rescue crews are still unable to reach them.
