Death toll in the Gaza Strip rises to 73,438 and injuries to 174,447 since the start of the aggression

GAZA, August 26, 2026 — Medical sources in the Gaza Strip announced that the death toll from the Israeli occupation's aggression on the Strip has risen to 73,438 martyrs and 174,447 injured since the start of the aggression on October 7, 2023.

They indicated that over the past 24 hours, hospitals in the Strip received 7 martyrs (5 new martyrs, and 2 who succumbed to their injuries) and 10 injuries.

They clarified that the total number of martyrs since the ceasefire on October 11 of last year has risen to 1,303 martyrs and 4,336 injured, in addition to the recovery of 814 bodies.

The sources confirmed that a number of victims remain under the rubble and on the roads, as ambulance and rescue crews face difficulties in reaching and recovering them.
